Great Wellness Goals for the New Year and Stick to Them

With the new year quickly approaching, it is time to start thinking about your resolutions and what you can do to live a happier and healthier life. Sometimes, making goals is the easy part but sticking to them is a whole other thing. Here at Art By Richie, we are all about feeling better and expressing our creativity, so we have some tips for how you can set goals for your life, work, and health and follow through with them in 2023.

Choose Your New Year’s Resolution

The first step is to create a goal for the new year. Choose something that you have always wanted to improve and one that you know you will have time to accomplish. So, if you have always wanted to start eating better, then this is the time to refine your diet. If you want to lose a certain amount of weight, then you can think about how to implement exercise into your routine.

The good news is that you don’t have to completely change your life to accomplish your goals. Instead, you can make small adjustments that can make a world of difference. For example, by exercising for only 20 minutes a day, you can see a noticeable change in your energy levels and weight loss. So, sit down, really think about what you want to change, and start creating a plan.

Create Manageable Goals

Now that you know what you want to accomplish, it is important to create reasonable goals. If you plan to lose weight over the next year, then don’t expect that you will reach your desired weight in only a week. Instead, set manageable short-term goals. So, if you want to lose 50 pounds, then decide to try and lose a few pounds each week. If you set lofty goals and you don’t achieve them, then you may give up too early. If you set reasonable goals and you accomplish them every week, then you will have more motivation to continue with your goals as the year goes on.

Find Happiness in Your Career or Return to School

Since we are at our jobs for about a third of our lives, it is a goal for many to find happiness at work, so you don’t feel so bad when you wake up every morning. If you want to move to a different position in your current company, then take this opportunity to speak to your manager and make your desires known. If they don’t provide you with a plan to move up, then consider making a fresh start at a new company.

You might also consider returning to school to sharpen your skills and maybe find a new profession in the process. If you need to work while you continue your education, then consider taking online courses. For instance, you could complete your bachelor of education online and take classes on your own time while getting the same great instruction as the folks that go in person. You can also get a degree in multiple subjects, from elementary education to law enforcement, and find a career that can truly make you happy.

Get Plenty of Sleep Along the Way

If you are unsure of the wellness goal that you want to accomplish, then you can start with a simple goal of ensuring that you get enough sleep every night. When you rest, your body heals your immune system, which reduces your chance of getting sick. Plus, by getting your seven to nine hours of sleep, you will wake up feeling refreshed, so you will have more energy to exercise, and you’ll feel better in body and spirit throughout the day.

As you can see, it is possible to set and accomplish your goals in the new year. Remember to think about what you really want to change, set manageable goals, and return to school if you think that will improve your life.
