8 Bible Verses About God's Incredible Power

The Bible records many miracles from God, and it's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that they're just fairy tales, or that they happened long ago when the world was supposedly less advanced. But the truth is that God still shows His power today - and if you are one of His children, He wants to show His power through you! Here are 8 Bible verses about God's incredible power.

Luke 10:19

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

This verse is a clear indication of God’s infinite power. We are not just supposed to believe in his strength; we have seen him use it. With Jesus, there is no more need for worry because he has proven his might over Satan and sin. Now he can help us fight these battles too! He may be able to give us the victory through difficulties that we would never have been able to overcome without him.

Genesis 18:14

Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

It was 1814 years before Sarah gave birth to Isaac. He was born at very old age for that time. The Lord once told Abraham he would have a son but it would take his wife (Sarah) 90 years to get pregnant. This proved that nothing is impossible with God and if he says he will do something then you can be sure he will never leave you or forsake you.

Exodus 14:30

That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.

Then Israel saw the tremendous feat accomplished by the Lord against Egypt, and their hearts greatly rejoiced. For in spite of their will they were made to go out of Egypt; they went out with a high hand subsequently.

Numbers 6:25-26

the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

When you utilize scripture to gain encouragement, you will maintain perspective in any situation. These bible verses about power will both offer you hope and assurance. If you're undergoing a crisis, you can draw strength and comfort from these scriptures.

1 John 3:8

The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

When we refrain from committing sinful acts, we rid ourselves of some of Satan's power. That's why it's so important for us to stop yielding to temptation and following our sinful desires—even when they seem fun or harmless. We need to be mindful that they are not actually harmless—because they can lead us down a path away from Christ. And ultimately, any act of sin pulls us further and further away from God and the freedom He provides for us in His Son Jesus Christ.

One day soon, Jesus will return for His people, and at that time He will put an end to all evil—including all sins committed by Satan or his followers.

Isaiah 30:15

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.

With the declaration that In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, Isaiah shows how our individual salvation stems from a knowledge of what we need to do. We must first repent—turn away from sins—and then rely on God for our spiritual strength as we put our trust in Him alone. By putting our faith in Christ rather than trusting ourselves, we can be saved not only from immediate danger but also from eternal hell.

Psalm 107:20-21

He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

There are so many things that God can do in our lives, from saving us from death to his daily supply of mercy and healing. In fact, Psalm 107 lists 21 ways that God’s power is greater than any sickness or problem. No matter what you are struggling with today, be assured that His unfailing love will help you through it!

Mark 11:23

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
