GOD IS GOOD!
I've heard this all my life. I see it on social media and many other places. Scroll through my Facebook feed and you'll come across it. Someone, I may or may not know writes it and it's usually followed by Type "AMEN". And I usually follow the trend and type Amen, because God is good. But very rarely do I read or hear the reasoning behind it. In fact, there are songs like the one below that sing of God's goodness. Yet, very few testify about it.
The Bible teaches us of God's goodness
Page after page we read how God in His goodness changes a man's life. He did with Moses who was a murder, As well as with paul. Paul persecuted Christian. We read this in Acts 9:1-19 and if we studied the life of Paul, we'll see how good, God is. God showed mercy to a murderer and employs him to for His glory. Paul went on to be a well know servent of God. In God's hands, Paul was no longer a murderer, but a powerful man of God. That is how Good God is!
THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTIFYING
I love the way it's explained in the Message Bible. Romans 10:14-17
"But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it? That's why Scripture exclaims,
A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!
But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it? ” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to."
This month is an important month for me. A year ago, Alcohol had its grip on me. I was battling the addiction for a long time. I was really trying my hardest to battle it on my own. At times I was successful, however, I disappointed my family many times. Pressure, stress, and failure always lead me back to the bottle. My family prayed for me many times, believing Jesus could set me free. Many said, "God has a purpose for me". Each time someone said it to me, I'd wonder why. "Why me? I fail time and time again. I can't stay sober long enough to regain all that I've lost."
"Finances, Home, Friends, and most important my Family"
Then I started reading testimonies about God's goodness and heard how God changes a
person's life. Little by little the seeds of faith were being watered. Springtime came and I began to grow. Through the testimonies, the word of God began taking roots. Each day it rained I grew, and God's goodness shined on me brightly. Until finally, I was no longer a slave, but a FREE man through Christ. And now I can say God is Good. Now I Testify of His Goodness. God Bless you, my friends.
